Anika Noi Rose Anika Noi Rose, an American singer/actress is a well-known name in the world of entertainment. Best known as the vocalist of Tiana In The Princess and the Frog as the first African American Disney princess. Rose was named as a Disney Legend in 2011. Rose was an Oscar-winning actor who was Lorrell in Dreamgirls. Anika Noni Rose (born June 6, 1972) is an American performer and actress. Her most notable role is that of Tiana the Disney's first African American princess, in The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney Legends featured her as one of them in 2011. Also, she has a prominent part, playing Lorrell Robinson as Lorrell Robinson, in Dreamgirls (2007) which has been nominated to win an Academy Award. And she is the jukebox player LaVerne Ganner on Starz's series Power. Alongside her acting skills, she's known for the roles she performed in theater. These include Emmie Thibodeaux, who played the Broadway adaptation of Caroline or Change (2005) where the Tony Award Best Features Actress in a Musical was presented and Beneatha on the Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun (2017) in which she received was awarded the Tony Award Best Features Actress in Play nominations were made.
